Time Must Move Forward

It had been three day since Anna had gone missing. Three days since Wren had awoken. Mel carried him while Acantha kept watch. Janasaadi and Deigo took the boy out of the town. They travelled away from any know civilization and set camp.

For the last three days the two were quiet, talking minimally to each other, lost in there own thoughts. Jansaadi hunted food for them and kept the fire going. Deigo kept with the boy making sure that he was provided for.

From time to time the two adults would switch but Wren was never left alone. She wondered if he would wake soon. It worried her more and more each day. She had gathered herbs from the area, medical plants she knew of and had dried several of them in hopes he would wake.

She sat near the fire and poked a stick into the ground. "Deigo?" She asked looking towards him.

Wren wakes up screaming."ACANTHA WATCH OUT IT THERE." Wren realizes he is laying down next to a fire."what happen and why dont i remember moving?" Wren rubs his head and ask"why is my head pounding?"

Wren looks around for food realising he is starving."hey do we have burrios oh wait 4th wall break my bad. Do we have food? And we are missing people wheres the creepy corner guy? And the other floaty rock specie?

The last three days had been a blur for the merman. Everything had happened so quickly. He and Jansaadi had regrouped later, but there was no sign of Ana, and the high elf had yet to reappear.

For three days Diego, and Jansaadi laid low away from the town, well hidden from wondering eyes and trouble. But, in those three days, the young boy lay unconscious, Acantha rarely leaving his side. Diego only leaving to relieve Jansaadi and give her a break.

Neither really spoke with the other, both contemplating over their own thoughts and emotions. Diego found the silence to be nerve wrecking, and oddly comforting at the same time. More than once he found himself trying to find something to say, but words fell short.

That evening, like the previous nights Diego and Jansaadi sat in silence, both periodically glancing at Wren, the worry seeming etched in both of their eyes. Neither saying anything. Diego from his place close to the boy, stood and found himself stretching out the tiredness from his limbs, and than Jansaadi's quiet voice broke the silent evening, and Diego caught himself smiling. It was a welcome sound after the last few tense nights.

He looked over, and for a brief moment his eyes locked with Jansaadi's, and his voice sounded just as quiet as the wood elf's had mere seconds before.

"Yes, Jansaadi?"

He waited, but found himself taking a closer seat beside her and the fire, waiting for her to ask whatever question was posed between the lines of her calling his name.

Jansaadi watched Diego stretch and she was going to ask something but the thought completely left her mind as suddenly Wren was screaming. Acantha's fur stood on end and Mal stamped her hooves. Both looking around them to see the danger. The words took a moment to register for them.

"Wren..calm down." She said quietly as he finally shook himself awake. "We have food but you've been out for days. I think it's best you have some water and perhaps some soup before you try solids. You could make yourself sick." Jansaadi stands and pulls out the water skin and tosses it next to Wren.

She walks towards Mal and pulls out a clean cup and scoops some left over broth from dinner into the cup and walks back to Wren sitting down next to him. "Drink this. Slowly. You don't want to get sick." She looks up at Diego and then back down. "What do you remember?" She asked Wren quietly.
